It’s all about rescuing food that would be tossed away and getting it to people in need – all the while reducing toxic emissions from food waste sitting in our landfills. My teenage boys have gotten our family involved for the past 2 years, and I can’t recommend it enough – make a rescue near you and make a difference!

There’s no better time to get involved in FOOD RESCUE US SOUTH FLORIDA than right now – it’s “Earth Week” and “National Volunteer Month”, so let’s go! Bring the biggest car you have and empty out the back so you can fit a LOT of boxes. Deliver the boxes to the named food pantry or homeless shelter near you. Go online to log what types of food you delivered and how much + close out the rescue. It’s that easy – and it just makes sense not to let 40% of our food supply in America go to waste!

You may not know their latest passion project as trustees of the FIU Foundation is funding the new interfaith “Trish and Dan Bell Chapel” that’s under construction now on the main campus of Florida International University.
